MOGADISHU, Somalia — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday at the Arab and Islamic States Summit.

The talks focused on their cooperation, instability in the Middle East and challenges facing Arab and Islamic countries.

They emphasized strengthening strategic partnerships to address regional conflicts and support economic, political and security collaboration.

President Mohamud expressed Somalia’s solidarity with Qatar after recent Israeli attacks, calling them violations against all Arab nations.

He reaffirmed Somalia’s support for Palestinians suffering under Israeli occupation and urged unity for establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He also called for adherence to international law and UN resolutions to end Israeli aggression and promote regional peace and stability.

The summit brings together leaders from Arab and Islamic nations to coordinate collective responses to the unfolding crisis in the Middle East.
