NAIROBI, Kenya — A Somali man accused of abducting and defiling a 15-year-old girl appeared at Makadara Law Courts Wednesday, denying all charges.

Musaab Hasan Jimale allegedly lured the girl to his home on November 14, intending to deprive her mother of lawful custody.

He faces additional charges of defilement and committing indecent acts against the minor, according to reports filed with police and presented in court.

Court documents indicate the girl, living with her mother in Eastleigh, met Jimale two days prior and agreed to visit him.

Jimale reportedly gave the girl his phone number and persuaded her to visit, claiming he had something important he needed to tell her.

The victim was first taken to a warehouse where Jimale worked as a shopkeeper, according to police statements and court submissions.

Authorities say he gave the girl a pill that rendered her unconscious for about two and a half hours.

He allegedly moved her to another house, undressed and defiled her, covering her mouth when she tried calling for help.

The girl regained consciousness the following morning at around 8:39 a.m., after being instructed to take a shower and cautioned not to leave.

A missing-person report was filed, leading police to arrest Jimale two days after the girl went missing from Eastleigh.

Police recovered the girl from his rented house, then took her to a hospital for medical attention and assessment of injuries.

In court, Jimale’s lawyer, Pamela Illuvya, argued the accused was a minor and student, requesting guidance on bond and related legal procedures.

State counsel Susan Kibungi opposed the application, saying no documents proved Jimale’s age or student status, citing serious nature of the offenses.

Kibungi also argued Jimale was unlawfully present in Kenya, likely to abscond, and could interfere with witnesses, putting the minor at potential risk.

She referenced an affidavit filed November 26, warning Jimale’s permanent residency was unknown and emphasizing the severe penalties the crimes carry if convicted.

Professor Hassan Anandwa, representing the defense, argued Jimale’s foreign status and potential flight risk, requesting the court deny bond until the case is fully determined.

Chief Magistrate Beatrice Kimemia directed Jimale to undergo an age assessment, noting further proceedings would be determined and mentioning the case November 28.
