ANKARA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s oath-taking ceremony on Saturday is set to welcome high-ranking dignitaries from more than 70 nations. The Presidential Complex which is set to host the inauguration, anticipates the presence of 21 heads of state and 13 prime ministers, along with delegates at the ministerial and parliamentary levels.
Representatives of prominent international organizations such as the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), NATO, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will also participate.
The oath-taking will occur in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye at 2:00 PM local time, marking the commencement of Erdogan’s new term. The mandate will be conferred upon him by the Assembly’s Temporary Speaker, Devlet Bahceli.
The recent presidential runoff election saw Erdogan emerge victorious with 52.18% of the votes, besting opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu who secured 47.82%, as per the final results issued by Turkey’s Supreme Election Council.
